1995: First Affirmative Action Plan for the Advancement of Women
The first Affirmative Action Plan for the Advancement of Women in Academia is published in 1995. Affirmative Action Plans are proscribed by law and record an institution’s equality policies. At the University of Vienna, the Equal Opportunities Working Party writes the plan together with the university leadership. The first plan for the University of Vienna was published in 2003. Since then, the Affirmative Action Plan for the Advancement of Women has become the Affirmative Action Plan for the Advancement of Women and (Gender) Equality and also includes other groups who may be affected by discrimination.
