1991: Establishment of the Equal Opportunities Working Party
In 1991, the Equal Opportunities Working Party is founded. It is staffed with representatives of all areas of the university – students, professors and other academic staff, as well as non-academic staff. At the University of Vienna, the Working Party currently has 25 regular and 50 substitute members. The Working Party counsels in cases of discrimination and watches over the compliance with the equality principle at the University of Vienna, particularly during the hiring process. The Working Party writes the Affirmative Action Plan for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality together with the university leadership.
