After the end of the Second World War, the university quickly goes back to teaching students. Busy with rebuilding, the university concerns itself very little with the Nazism in its past. The denazification of the teaching staff takes until the 1950s, many lecturers can return to the university after an interruption. Very few of the displaced return, though. A thorough processing starts only towards the end of the 1980s, 50 years after the “Anschluss”, and is still on-going.
