2000: Establishment of the Gender Research Office

In 2000, the Gender Research Office, as it is known today, is established as the Project Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Vienna. It was first tasked with further establishing gender studies in the university structures, as well as creating the Master’s degree Gender Studies. Today, it is mainly occupied with coordinating the Master’s degree as well as the extension curricula Gender Studies, and considers itself as a driving force for intersectional gender studies at the University of Vienna.
