1989: First Female Dean
In 1989, Inge Gampl is elected to be the first female Dean at the University of Vienna. She is head of the Faculty of Law until 1991. She has been working in different positions at universities since 1949. In 1966, she becomes the first woman in the German-speaking world who receives the lectureship of a full professorship as part of a guest professorship at a catholic theological faculty.
